Description
The Pyranha Scorch Kayak represents the next step in whitewater kayak design, combining decades of innovation from Pyranha’s most successful models. Built to push the limits of modern creeking, the Scorch blends speed, precision and control to help paddlers tackle challenging rivers with confidence.
Drawing inspiration from iconic designs like the Burn, 9R and Ripper, the Scorch integrates sharp full‑length rails, progressive bow rocker and a fast planing hull into a single high‑performance platform. This combination allows paddlers to carve clean lines, maintain speed through chaotic water and react quickly to changing river features.
The hybrid rocker profile plays a key role in the kayak’s performance. A progressive bow rocker keeps the kayak efficient while moving downstream and allows it to plane smoothly over powerful features and turbulent water. At the stern, a kick‑rocker design lifts the back edge of the kayak when launching off drops, helping the boat skip out cleanly and avoid catching on obstacles below.
Features
- Progressive bow rocker with deflectors helping keep the deck dry and maintain speed through waves
- Sharp full‑length rails enabling precise carving, eddy turns and strong line control
- Hybrid rocker profile balancing speed, manoeuvrability and drop performance
- Stern kick‑rocker lifting the stern off the lip of drops for cleaner landings
- Tapered stern volume with wedge‑shaped sidewalls improving edge control and bow lift
- Cut‑off stern edge releasing surface tension for faster paddling and improved drop performance
- Generous but balanced volume distribution keeping the kayak riding high in turbulent water
- Extended kayak length designed for speed, stability and performance on big rivers
- Full‑size grab handles for easier carrying, portaging and rescue handling
