Wave Sport 145 Hydra LV

The latest touring kayaks from Wave Sport, the full-sized Hydra 145 and LV versions, are popular amongst more experienced paddlers looking to explore coastal waters in a boat shorter than traditional sea kayaks. Lighter and more manoeuvrable, the hull design is described as complex and has a strong rocker. Allowing it to turn much faster than other 14-15ft boats - perfect for surfing waves, ocean generated swell and carving through tidal eddies. The hull shape is semi-planing, allowing the paddler a stable surf on green waves, yet also providing plenty of stability for intermediate paddlers wishing to push their limits.

Taking the outfitting from decades of white-water boat manufacturing experience, the Hydra has been designed to fit the paddler with plenty of adjustment to ensure a snug fit. To allow maximum control whilst edging the boat or rolling, the Core Whiteout System is supplied with hip pads and a seat leg-lifter- perhaps a first in any touring kayak. Providing the paddler with a strong level of connectivity and comfort within the boat.

Features-wise, the Hydra has everything you would expect on a short sea kayak/touring kayak, including a drop-down skeg system, adjustable footrests 2x large watertight hatches. The Hydras also have useful rear-mounted gear tracks to easily fit/remove accessories and a front day hatch, features that aren't usually present on most touring kayaks.
